    Approach: My clients describe me as warm, interactive and welcoming. Our work together will be collaborative, insight-oriented and strength-based. My primary approach is person-centered, relational, psychodynamic and trauma-informed. When helpful I also use cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies. 

    Experience:  I developed expertise in working with perinatal women in 2003 when I joined Evanston Hospital in launching the Perinatal Depression Program - Moms Hotline. I continue to work there as a Clinician and Clinical Consult. I also facilitate support groups for postpartum depression and infant loss at Beyond the Baby Blues. After I started my private practice in 2012, I further expanded my expertise around workplace stressors, chronic/ terminal illness, grief and loss.

    Approach: I believe in a caring, empathic and knowledgeable approach to therapy. My practice is person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. I empower my clients with resilience by teaching valuable techniques techniques such as emotion regulation skills, mindfulness practices, and grounding techniques. I utilize therapeutic modalities ACT, CBT, DBT, and the Gottman Method for couples. 

    Experience: With over 25 years of experience, I am a seasoned clinician. I have led Intensive Out-Patient (IOP) and Partial Hospital Programs (PHP), developing emotion regulation and trauma informed therapies. My expertise in grief and loss was honed through hospice bereavement counseling, and I have supported students and families facing mental health challenges as a social worker.

    Approach: My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, where I prioritize building a strong relationship with my clients. I create a safe and supportive space where you can freely explore your feelings, fears, and worries. My goal is to help you process your experiences, make sense of your "new normal," and ultimately find healing and meaning. I am also aware of how past traumas can influence current struggles, and I provide compassionate guidance to both individuals and families.

    Experience: My background includes significant work with perinatal women, having worked with Evanston Hospital's Perinatal Depression Program, the MOMS Line and Perinatal Family Support. Additionally, my experience in pediatric and emergency care has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges children and parents face during critical illnesses, trauma, and loss, equipping me to support families through complex grief and bereavement.

My therapeutic style is warm and open, and I strive to meet you exactly where you are emotionally. I am actively engaged and will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing within a client-centered framework. My aim is to help you gain a deeper understanding of your patterns and behaviors, empowering you to live a more genuine and authentic life. And yes, I'm known to use humor when appropriate to create a comfortable and real connection!

    Experience: My journey began in 2007, supporting high-risk youth and expanding to working with offenders and their families, emphasizing trauma-informed care, coping skills training and relapse prevention. In 2014, I started my private practice offering compassionate and effective counseling for individuals and couples striving for healthier, more fulfilling lives.
